vB Ad Management problem

Hi!
I have recently upgraded vB to 3.8.4. I am getting error messages.
I have ads that I no longer want.
In vB Ad Management in Custom adblock after clicking on YES in the "Delete unused custom adcode blocks" and saving, I get this fatal error message.
Fatal error: Call to a member function query_write() on a non-object in /home/naruto/public_html/forums/includes/adminfunctions_options.php(490) : eval()'d code on line 20
I was able to ad or delete ads on my previous version of vB 3.7.2. After upgrading to newer 3.8.4 I can no longer ad or delete ads in the sponsor section of the forum. Please see 4 squares (Donate, IDWEEB, Luv Dating, Ringtones) below the last thread in the bottom and just above the bottom banner. Please see here:

Please let me know what can be done. I need to ad and delete ads on our forum.
Also, can default view with no ads be turned off or disabled? We'd prefer using our own custom view.
